Who are the doctors at Agave Animal Hospital?
Agave Animal Hospital is independently owned and led by two local veterinarians. Dr. Nicole Sorensen, DVM is one of them — you can meet her on our team page — and we’ll introduce the rest of our doctors and care team as opening approaches.
Where are you located and what areas do you serve?
We are located at 6021 S River Rd, St. George, UT 84790. We proudly serve St. George and the surrounding Washington County communities, including Washington, Santa Clara, Ivins, Hurricane, and Bloomington.
What are your hours?
Once we open — expected early 2027 — our hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, closed Saturday and Sunday. Hours may expand as we grow — check our website for the latest.
What should I bring to my pet’s first appointment?
Please bring any previous medical records, a list of current medications, and your pet’s vaccination history if available. Bringing a recent stool sample can also help us screen for parasites. Dogs should be on a leash and cats in a secure carrier.
Can I drop my pet off for the day?
We plan to offer drop-off for technician visits and doctor appointments once we open — a convenient option for busy pet parents. Bring your pet by, our team completes the visit during the day while your pet rests in one of our comfortable kennels, and you pick them up when it fits your schedule. Kennels are reserved for hospitalized patients and daytime drop-off visits — Agave will not offer overnight pet lodging.
Services & Care
What services do you offer?
Agave Animal Hospital will offer comprehensive care including wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, microchipping, dental care, spay and neuter and other surgeries, in-house diagnostics, digital X-ray, ultrasound, laser therapy, and same-day sick and urgent visits.
What types of animals do you treat?
We care for dogs and cats of all ages, from new puppies and kittens to senior pets with complex health needs.
Do you handle emergencies?
Once we’re open, we plan to offer same-day sick and urgent visits during regular hours whenever possible, and we’ll take emergencies that come in while our doors are open. If your pet has an emergency outside regular veterinary hours, contact your regular veterinarian or seek care from the nearest available emergency veterinary provider right away.
How often does my pet need a wellness exam?
We recommend a wellness exam at least once a year for most adult pets, and every six months for puppies, kittens, and senior pets. Regular exams help us catch health issues early, when they are easier and less expensive to treat.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We plan to accept all major credit cards along with CareCredit financing, so unexpected care doesn’t have to wait. Specific details will be confirmed before we open — please reach out with any questions.
